Roald Dahl's Birthday- Homework

Roald Dahl's Birthday

Happy birthday to Roald Dahl, one of the most popular children's book authors of all time! Some of his books include Matilda, The BFG, Witches, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach. Many of Dahl's books have been made into movies.

Homework question: Have you ever read a book, and then seen the movie the book was based on? How did it compare? Talk about the characters, story, and what was different or left out of the movie. (If you've read a Roald Dahl book and seen the movie, talk about that!)

For more fun with Roald Dahl, visit his official web site at http://www.roalddahl.com/

In the seventh book of Harry Potter, Dudley makes friends with Harry. But in the movie, Vernon Dursley just says, '' Lets get out of here, it's not safe.'' That's my story.

I read the book Diary of a Whimpy kid and saw the movie. The movie was very different. The main character was Greg. He was weird.

Hi,I've read Fantastic Mr. Fox and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I've watched Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The only difference that I remembered from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is in the book, the door is big and in the movie it is small.

I read 2 of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and saw the movies. The books have a lot of details, but the movie have a lot of changes because the movies would be too long! Greg is really funny!
Hey Duncan, I did my math homework with my dad! =)

I have seen the movie James and the Giant Peach and read the book. There are many differences between them.

Example: In the book the mean, greedy aunts die. But, in the movie the aunts go to jail.

I liked the movie better because the caterpillar has funnier lines than in the book.

In the movie of James and the giant peach, James meets the spider before he goes inside the peach. Also, James doesn't sing that song before his ''parents'' catch him talking with the spider.

I 've read the book Matilda and seen the movie. The movie was not that much different from the book. Matilda's mom and dad were very mean to her. Her brother is a jerk to her as well, and her teacher is an evil overlord that wishes to someday reach superintendant status instead of principal. The movie was about the same as the book, and I can't really remember anything that different. (except fot the effects, which were'nt as good as real magic of course.)

Hi, I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid and saw the movie. I saw the movie a long time ago so I don't rememeber well what was not in it. I do think that what I thought Greg looked like in book was different then in thee movie. I thought he had short hair but he had bushy hair. They did use some cartoons from the book in the movie too.
