Scholastic Book Orders due May 1st

Online Ordering Information
Web address: scholastic.com/bookclubs
Class Activation Code: HCP22

Dear Parents,
New Scholastic catalogs are available for your review. I did not receive paper catalogs this month, so all ordering must be done online. If you choose to order online this time around Scholastic makes it very easy to do so, just following the instructions below.

Here’s how it works:
• SIGN UP at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. On the parent page, click the “Register” button in the “First Time Here?” section. Register for your own user name and password. When prompted, enter the one-time Class Activation Code shown above. This unique code ensures that your order is sent to me.
• SELECT the books you’d like to order—choose from thousands of titles—many more than in our monthly flyers.
• When our classroom order arrives, I will sort the books and send them home with your child.

Due date for orders is Sunday May 1st.

Thank you,
Tammy Fun, Scholastic Volunteer, Mrs. Ness 4th Grade, 2010-2011

BizTown Job Interviews

All students were interviewed this week for their JA BizTown job. Students applied for their top three jobs, Ms. Peavey and I interviewed them. AwesomeNess Althetes did a great job using their manners, shaking our hands, sitting up tall during the interview, speaking clearly, and thoughtfully responding to the questions.

One part was so sweet, I had to share: When asked "Who do you admire most and why?" many students told us they admired their parents. They had many reasons: because they provide for our family, they're self-less, because they have dealt with really hard times well, because they started a whole new life when they came to America, etc. So just know that they notice your hardwork and how you deal with things, whether they mention it or not.

Science Fair

Yahoo, we are done with the science fair. Our students did an awesome job meeting the deadlines and putting together a great final product. Grades and final reports are coming home today. Here are some pictures of our students with their hardwork!
