Michael Jordan was born on February 17,1963.He was a 16 time all star and played in the NBA from 1984 to 2003 and played for both the Chicago Bulls and the Washington (DC) Wizards.he won 6 NBA titles in his career.He was recently voted into the hall of fame and now partially owns the Charlotte Bobcats.And in many people's opinions the best basketball player of all time.

She also helped John Brown recruit people to fight against slave holders in the raid on Harper's Ferry.. She was the first women to lead and armed expedition in the American Civil War.

Robert M. Glass was born on December 17, 1920. He was one of the higly skilled African American pilots to join the 332nd Fighter Group of the Tuskegee Airmen. Glass signed up at Tuskegee Army Field on January 28, 1943 and attended cadet school. Glass served his country in world War II around the Korean conflict.

In 1955 Rosa Parks refused To give up her seat on a public bus to a white person in Montgomery, Alabama. Her act inspired the Montgomery bus boycott. Rosa Parks was arrested on December 1st 1955. She married Raymond Parks, they joined a local chapter of the NAACP. Rosa Parks died in 2005 at age 92. After er death, her casket was placed in the state capital for two days.
Malcolm X (May 19,1925-Feb 21,1965)born Malcolm Little and was also known as Elijah-Hajj Malik El-Shahbaz was an African-American Muslim and human right activist.He had been called one of the greatest and most influential African American in history.He is the founder of Muslim Mosque Inc. and the organization of Afro-American Unity.He worked for Black nationalism.He was impressed by Elijah Muhammad and Marcus Garvey.
Muhammed Ali was born in 1942 and became a famous boxer. In 1960 he was the Oylmpic gold medalist. In 1964 he became the world heavyweight champion and he also became a Muslim. He wouldn’t fight in the Vietnam War so they took away his title. Ail was the only man to ever win the heavyweight crown three times. He had big fights against Joe Frazier and George Foreman.
LeBron James was born on Dec 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio. He showed early talent in basketball when he was only a kid. In his high school years he scored 2,657 points, and won 3 out of 4 state championships for his team. He also was the first player to be drafted for the NBA in the 2003-2004 season. He was assigned to the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron won the NBA Most Valuable Player award in 2006. In 2010, he signed as a free agent for the the Miami Heat where he continues to try to win a title.
Ben Carson was born into a very poor home. He lived with his older brother and his mom who only had a third grade education. Ben went to school every day and realized that he was the dumbest kid in school. When his mom saw all the f's on his report card, she got worried that he would grow up without a good education and that he wouldn't be very smart. She didn't want that to happen, so every week she told Ben and his brother to go to the library and read some books. Then, she made them do two book reports on two books that they had read that week. Week after week Ben went to the library and got smarter and smarter. Soon, Ben wasn't the dumbest kid in school. He graduated from high school and went to Yale University. He became a doctor and was the first person to successfully seperate siamese twins joined at the head.

Ray Charles was born on September 23,1932 in Albany, Georgia. He had a hard life because he was completely blind by the age of 7 and never got to see the sun again. Soon after that he started playing the piano and the guitar and played all diffrent kinds of music like rock and roll, gospel, soul, and blues. He also started composing music. Ray Charles died on June 10, 2004 at the age of 73 due to liver failiure.
Oprah Winfrey was born in a poor town in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 29, 1954. Oprah moved to Baltimore where she hosted a tv chat show People are talking,after she was recruited by a Chicago tv station to host a morning show. Oprah has been nominated for an academy award for best supporting actress. She is a great tv host, philantrophist, actress, and producer.
Ken Griffey Jr. was born on November 21st, 1969. He started his baseball career with the Seattle Mariners in 1989. He played in 13 all-star games and won 10 gold glove awards. He is known as one of the best baseball players of all time. My dad took me to a Mariners game once and I got to see him play!

Marian Anderson was born on February 27th, 1897 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia. She died on April 8th 1993 because of heart failure in Portland, Oregon. She was the first african american to sing at the metropolitin opera. Marian was also the first african american to be named a permanet member of the metropolitin opera house. She also won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 1991 and a UN Peace Prize. One of Marian's quotes was 'Sometimes, it's like a hair across your cheeck. You can't seem to find it with your finger's, but you keep brushing at it because the feeling of it is irriataing.
Desean Jackson was born in Los Angeles, California on December 1, 1986. He is famous for his great talent in football. He is a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. His big achievement in the NFL was in 2010 when he scored a game winning touchdown on a punt return. This was the first time this has happened in the NFL.
oprah whinfrey was born on january 29,1954 in missisipi. She was born in a poor town and left in 1971 to go to Tenessee University. She then moved to Baltimore in 1976. She started working for a tv talk show in Baltimore. In 1986 she began working on the Oprah Winfrey show. She is very famous for helping people who need help.
Jimi Hendrix was a very famous guitarist and musician. He was born in Seattle on November 27, 1942 and was only 27 years old when he died.
In 1961, Jimmy (as he was known then) left home to enlist in the United States Army and in November 1962 earned the right to wear the "Screaming Eagles" patch for the paratroop division. While stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Jimmy formed The King Casuals. After being discharged due to an injury he received during a parachute jump, Jimmy began working as a session guitarist under the name Jimmy James. He spent a few years in Great Britain and became very famous in the U.S.A. when he returned in 1967. He played at the Woodstock Music & Art Fair in August 1969, and his way of playing the "Star Spangled Banner" with his electrical guitar amazed the audience.
He died of a tragic death on September 18, 1970. His grave in Renton, WA is visited by thousands of tourists every year.
Eddie Murphy was born on April 3rd,1961 in brooklyn, NY. Eddie's stint as a standout performer on Saturday Night Live led to a successfull movie career. On SNL, Eddie was known for impressions of James Brown, Mr Rogers, and Billie Thomas, with Murphy's racial stereotypes as part of the act. Murphy became a star as a result of the success of his first three movies: 48 Hours, Trading Places, and Beverly Hills Cop. Afte some career dissapointments in the early 1990's, Eddie bounced back with the remake fo the Nutty Professor. He followed up with the a string of amazing movies, such as: Mulan, Shrek 1 and 2.
