Raading: Yesterday we started our reading detective book clubs. We are learning about the parts of a mystery and will be reading to specifically find the clues, suspects, and trying to solve the mysteries on our own. Ask your child what book they are reading for the club!

Writing: Phew! We are done with the writing portion of the MSP. The next two writing projects we're working on is wrapping up our poetry unit that we've been working on slowly for most of the year and now the Living Museum report. We'll be doing a large part of this in class although students may be asked to finish some parts at home.

Math: Unit 10: Reflections and Symmetry, was a fabulous unit that seemed like art instead of math. It came at the perfect time when kisd were exhausted from the MSP. Today we started Unit 11: Shapes, Weight, Volume and Capacity.

Science: We also started our Air and Flight science unit. Students were testing parachute designs and dropped their parachutes with an egg attached. Only 2 eggs survived. But we did learn a lot about great parachute design to keep them aloft longer.

Social Studies: Students are working on drafting their paragraphs about why their person is famous and how they impacted Washington. Those drafts are due tomorrow and then we will begin to revise and edit those drafts. Remember, if there is any way you can help your child get some hands-on learning about their person, it will be such a richer experience (ie. field trips visiting the place they lived, a place that they impacted, a museum, etc.)
